What To Expect
When visiting a chiropractor for the first time, it’s normal to be nervous and to wonder what to expect. Learn what you should be aware of at your first visit and what you can do to make your visit as stress-free as possible. Trident Elite Healthcare does not accept all patients, but rather the cases that they believe they can truly help. If yours is not a chiropractic case, our office will gladly refer and guide you towards a better healthcare option. However, if our office can help, we will begin your care promptly.
Day 1
Complete New Patient Forms
Before your first chiropractic appointment, we encourage you to complete our new patient forms to save you time when you arrive. These forms will be emailed to you after you schedule your first appointment. This vital information provides us the necessary information regarding your health and medical history before your first appointment.
Getting To Know Our Space
Your comfort is important to us, and we want to make you feel like a valued practice member. A team member will greet you and answer any questions you may have about conditions we help with, chiropractic care, services we offer, or any other questions you may have.
Initial Consultation
You will be guided to an exam room, where the doctor will go over you intake forms and ask any necessary questions to further understand your healthcare needs. This is also the time where you may make or add any necessary changes to your intake forms.
Initial Exam
If you and the doctor have agreed to continue, you will now receive a complete chiropractic exam, where we check your spine and supporting structures, nervous system, and functional movement.
We use advanced technology that provides a detailed overview of your nervous system and its functions. You will also receive a functional movement assessment to determine any abnormal movement problems that may be contributing to your healthcare conditions.
Some individuals may need diagnostic imaging, which offers a more detailed view of your skeletal system. Unlike traditional Xrays, we perform motion analysis Xrays, so we can see exactly which areas need to be corrected vs. those that don't.
Creating Your Individual Care Plan
After the initial exam, we’ll schedule you for a follow-up visit. These typically occur a day or two after the first visit. You may also receive an initial trial of conservative care if the doctor feels its safe to do so.
During the follow-up appointment, the doctor will discuss your exam, reports and x-rays if taken, and provide a custom plan of action that’s tailored to your specific needs. Your customized plan will aim to improve your health and well-being through the most current chiropractic methods.
